Our Philosophy


At New Heights School, we believe that each child is a gift, wonderfully made by God, our Creator.  We believe that every child has been created with strengths, gifts, and talents for His purpose and glory.  Our goal at New Heights School is to help every child reach his/her fullest potential, nurturing strengths and strengthening weaknesses.  In choosing curriculum and resources to best fit the needs of our students, we look carefully at our school philosophy, researched based educational practices, and brain research.  We believe that our school has something more to offer to those seeking strong academics AND a Christian worldview. 


SCHOOL HISTORY


“The lines have fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.” Psalm 16:6 NIV. 


NHS is new and possesses a great heritage at the same time.  It exists as a ministry of NHC, which found its genesis from the dissolved Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Columbia (circa 1932).  As that church birthed New Heights (July 4, 1999), a school ministry to the community became the next logical step in God’s unfolding plan. After much deliberation NHS emerged to help children in their educational journey based upon godly principles. “For the Word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does.” Psalm 33:4 NIV.
