"I have had the privilege of working with the New Heights School since its inception. It has been exciting to see our school grow from six kindergarten students during its first year, to a fully accredited facility that now serves students through sixth grade.

Since 1982, I have served as an itinerant foreign language teacher for various Columbia- area schools. These have included private and public schools, as well as both secular and religious ones.  These opportunities have provided me with a first-hand look at how New Heights fits into Columbia’s educational community.

The staff at New Heights has the education and experience required to help children reach their potentials.  Dr. Myles Beck holds a PhD in education and Mrs. Krecker has twenty-three years of elementary school teaching experience. Our teachers are enthusiastic and they utilize this enthusiasm to motivate their students.

Another advantage New Heights offers is its teacher to student ratio; this allows for individualized attention.  Both a struggling student and one who is gifted benefit from the time that a teacher has to invest in him.

New Heights places a high priority on spiritual, as well as, academic growth. Helping our students learn about God and building a strong relationship with Him is a motivating factor behind every lesson and classroom interaction.

Knowing the creative nature of children, New Heights provides opportunities for development in the areas of music and art.  As a technology-based society, we realize the importance of acquiring computer skills and we provide this instruction via our computer lab. As part of our global community, we respect and encourage cultural exchange; foreign language instruction is offered beginning in K5.

There is a constant need for foreign language teachers in Columbia. Of the many opportunities available each year, I choose to serve at New Heights because it produces competent students within a safe and loving environment. New Heights is dedicated to producing the Christian leaders of tomorrow."
