Joining families to encourage our children to reach new heights in Christ through:
Quality AcademicsFor the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - Proverbs 2:6
Our well balanced school curriculum includes emphasis on literacy and literature based language arts, an integrated math program with a hands-on approach as well as a focus on problem-solving skills; instruction in both creative writing and "tear-free" handwriting. Our commitment is to maximize individualized instruction time with smaller class sizes and low student/teacher ratios. Each class incorporates a variety of resources, teaching tools, materials, and field trips to complement their unit studies. "Each of us must make crucial choices for our children's education. At NHS, God led us to establish an environment with an emphasis on academics AND a Christian worldview." -Chairman, New Heights School Council Spiritual GrowthMy purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ. -Colossians 2:2
At New Heights we believe each and every day
should incorporate a time of focus, praise, worship, and prayer to our Lord
God. We schedule a time to do those things together as a school, at 8:15 am
each school day. Different staff and classes will take turns leading our
morning assembly time. We'll include songs, prayers, devotional thoughts,
praise and thanksgiving, the Pledge of Allegiance, and Pledge to the Bible.
Special guest speakers will also be invited for occasional extended
assemblies throughout the school year and parents are always welcome to sign
in and join us during any school assembly times. Our students are also
encouraged to grow closer to God through classroom Bible study, scripture
memorization, and developing a personal, daily quiet time with God.
Nurturing of Individual Talents We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. -Ephesians 2:10
NHS recognizes that God designed each one of us with a unique personality and variety of different personal interests. We give each student opportunities to explore different areas of study beyond basic academics to develop their God-given gifts. Our school week includes special enrichment studies in fine art, performing arts, Bible, computers, foreign language studies, library, movement, and music. We also emphasize
instruction in, and the practice of; respect for adults, property, and those in
authority; kindness to others; and reinforcement of conversational etiquette and
table manners. We guide our students in developing lifelong habits of courtesy and
compassion. "What I like about New Heights School is the fact that our daughter will not be learning anything that goes against our Christian values. I know when I drop her off she is safe and happy. She is in an environment that nurtures her heart as well as her head." -New Heights School parent
